Species Lore

This page will be dedicated to the various open, closed, and mythical species found in my universe. All species copyright is retained by their respective owners who will be linked with each entry. Personal species may never be sold, however my own closed species may have an individual sold here or there, likely on toyhou.se.

I will not give permission to make any closed species on this page. The lore noted here may or may not coincide with each species' owners. I do not condone the creation of offbrands or non-approved individuals of any species. Reading these pages does not give permission to create any characters based off my closed or personal species. This page is only for informational purposes in regards to my world and lore, and is not to be used as a basis for any other creations without expressed and explicit permission.

Thank you for peeking in! It's going to be a pretty long way off until I truly populate it. Come back in the future...!

Humanoids:

Humanoids are a general large classification of species and races that have bodies very similar to humans, and also include humans. Anything not considered human in itself will have unique but identifiable features, mostly recognizable as animal parts, but not necessarily so.

Ancestry for humanoids is a convergence of useful traits, known in some circles as sapianization, as magical creatures take human-like forms for the convenience of size, human socialization, ease of tool use, and high-stamina bipedal locomotion. As the magical creatures took human-like forms and mixed with humans, they evolve into their own versions of them.

Humans:

Humans are the most basic of intelligent species, and a majority of them can be classified as hairless apes, though there's worlds where this is not the case.

Mana potential is completely wild with humans, some capable of very little, up to a range of some of the highest known in history. It is quite predictable in isolated groups, however, with families, communities, and even worlds sticking very close to their average.

Notable Individuals:

Humanoid General Umbrella: Kemonomimi

Kemonomimi, literally "beast ears", is an umbrella term for people who are approximately 80% or more human that also have some sort of beast-like feature.

They can mix and mingle with each other and have viable children, and for the most part are also compatible with humans. Many can be categorized by subgroups, which merely identifies physical traits. Mana potential overlaps with humans, but a higher proportion of kemonomimi have mana potential, and the average strength is a bit higher as well.

Personal Species: Kyklourans

Created by: pepperly

An ancient magical kemonomimi species that is dying off; their claim to fame is bringing advanced understanding of magic around the universe. They're spotted by their colorful cloth-like patterns on their animal-shaped ears, legs with feety paws, and a banner-like tail that ends with a unique ring, which holds their life-force and mana, giving them extended lives.

Many historic stories of powerful individuals with halos can be attributed to ancient variations of them, where they kept the ring of their tail behind their head while using powerful magic, which are frequently attributed as "miracles".

They prefer living on worlds with high mana and a somewhat dry climate, as their colorful hair is dense and prone to mold if damp too long. They're resourceful and try to blend in with other humanoids, hiding their rings frequently. Their culture involves leaving their home world to find other worlds to settle on, so their population density is very light. You can find no more than a few individuals on one world, if there are any at all, and many worlds only have a small family, at most. The only exception is the kingdom ruled by a recent king, Laurium, who is trying to create a new homeland for them.

Notable Individuals:

Furries:

Furries are an umbrella term for anthropomorphic creatures that are more animal than human. Most examples are completely covered in fur and/or scales, and may be muzzled, but mostly have human-like faces.

Most furry species cannot intermingle and have hybrids, but there are a few exceptions.

Personal Species: Leolops

Created by: pepperly

A fuzzy species of an anthropomorphic blend of rabbits and lions, Leolops are commonly very playful and resourceful. They can be found in just about any kind of biome, and respond well to learning magic. They keep mana in the fats of their ears, which are also somewhat prehensile and can be used to grab and carry things. Some individuals can learn to channel that mana to lift themselves in the air! They also all have long lion-like tails with a small trinket attached. The trinket is always representative of something important to them.

They can be found in just about any kind of biome, easily becoming a common race on any world they propagate. There's special sub-types of them, too. Those with a jewel on their forehead or chest is the carbuncle type; they're thought to be very lucky and many people want to work close with them, and all Leolop communities hope to have at least one living with them. Another sub-type have antlers, known as a Leolope.

Leolops are very privy to hybridization, keeping most of their standard traits but picking up a couple physicalities of their mated species. This can give Leolops some unique features, like small wings, differently shaped and lengthed ears, and if they have DNA of a powerful species, they'll be powerful too.

Notable Individuals:

Synthetics:

Synthetics are a general term for anything that wasn't born via sexual reproduction. This can be machines, living plushes, or organic forms created by ambient mana. There is no other tying force between them beyond "created to be sentient and unable to reproduce".

Beings created without magic have no magic potential whatsoever, and this is immutable. Beings created with magic normally top out at about 80% of the strength of the person who created them, but the ceiling can be broken by using multiple people, being born by a natural force, or using magical objects for enhancement.
